Roger has been developing Nikola TESLA: A New Musical with composer Nick Butcher since 2025.

Produced by HoriPro, the musical will premiere in Tokyo in September 2026 at Kinokuniya Hall, before transferring to Osaka.

A fast-paced, 100-minute musical blending history and fantasy, the show explores inventor Nikola Tesla’s life through loss, his rivalry with Edison, and his journey of self-discovery. Four performers take on multiple roles, creating a thrilling, ever-shifting world around Tesla.

The cast brings together four of Japan’s most acclaimed musical theatre performers: Naoto Kaiho, Seigo, Songha, Megumi Hamada and Natsumi Kon.  Together, they form an extraordinary ensemble at the very top of their field.

The production marks a collaboration between emerging British musical theatre talent and some of Japan’s most celebrated performers, bringing Tesla’s extraordinary story to the stage in a bold new musical.
