After spending more than fifteen years on stage, Roger turned his attention to writing, bringing with him the instincts of a performer and a deep understanding of what audiences connect with.
Roger is best known for his debut musical, I Wish You Well, inspired by the now infamous Gwyneth Paltrow ski trial, enjoyed sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival before transferring to London's Criterion Theatre in the West End. The production was hailed as "a triumph" by The New York Times, establishing Roger as an exciting new voice in contemporary musical theatre.
Roger is currently developing a TV Pilot, an animation feature film and several new musicals, including And Tango Makes Three, based on the acclaimed children's book.
Before becoming a writer, Roger enjoyed an extensive career as a leading musical theatre performer. His credits include creating the role of Deputy in Tim Minchin's Ground Hog Day (Old Vic) and LA in Gypsy, starring Imelda Staunton (West End). Other credits include Matilda (West End), Cake (West End), A Christmas Carol (Old Vic) and roles in various TV shows - Silent Witness, Humans, Sherwood, Malice, Unforgotten.
